Real Madrid have not made a lot of additions this summer but they have added definite quality to their squad. Antonio Rudiger was one of the best defenders in the world at Chelsea before joining Los Blancos on a free transfer. On the other hand, the fans must have been delighted with Aurelien Tchouameni’s performance against Celta Vigo.

Another player that Real Madrid appear to have had their eyes on but failed to sign, seems to be Gabriel Jesus, who ended leaving Manchester City to join Arsenal this summer.

And it is safe to say that he has been absolutely stunning since moving to Mikel Arteta’s side. According to stats from Transfermarkt, Jesus has scored 2 goals and provided 3 assists in 3 appearances for Arsenal till now. If he can continue to perform like this, the Gunners might be in the title race.

According to Fabrizio Romano and as reported by SI, Jesus was wanted by Carlo Ancelotti and Real Madrid before he ended up joining Arsenal. The 14-time Champions League winners wanted the Brazilian, but a deal was complicated due to the fact that he possessed a non-EU passport.

Real Madrid wanted to sign Jesus from Manchester City this summer

Jesus has been very highly rated for a long time but never really got a run as the main man at Manchester City.

He is getting that opportunity at Arsenal though and absolutely shining in that role. While it is too early to say, but his arrival seems to have taken the Gunners to the next level and they could genuinely be competing for trophies this season.

Other than Karim Benzema and Vinicius Junior, Real Madrid do not have a lot of reliable goalscorers in their squad right now. As a result, someone like Jesus could have been an excellent addition to Ancelotti’s side.
