Real Madrid have not been the most active of teams in La Liga this summer when it comes to the transfer market. The club have brought in two excellent players in Aurelien Tchouameni and Antonio Rudiger, but on the other hand, the likes of Casemiro, Gareth Bale, Isco and Marcelo have left the club.

Combine that with the fact that a number of their key players are on the wrong side of 30 and their lack of options in certain positions, and Los Blancos might be slightly weaker this time around.

Across town, Atletico Madrid have faced their issues as well, and have not made any blockbuster additions to their side. Their most recent addition will interest Real Madrid fans though.

Atletico Madrid announced on their official website that the club and Tottenham Hotspur have reached an agreement over the loan of Sergio Reguilon, who will spend the season at Wanda Metropolitano.

Reguilon had come through the Real Madrid youth system and was very highly rated. He never really managed to establish himself in the senior team, even though he did make quite a few appearances.

After a great loan spell at Sevilla, Real Madrid fans wanted to see him get a chance in the first-team, but instead, Reguilon ended up moving to Tottenham Hotspur.

There he enjoyed a very solid start and seemed to be enjoying Premier League football. But under the management of Antonio Conte, he was no longer a starter for Tottenham Hotspur and as a result, a loan move away makes sense for the Spanish international.

He could prove to be a solid signing for Atletico Madrid, who were in need of a left-back following the departure of Renan Lodi to Nottingham Forest.

In fact, Real Madrid could have done with a left-back themselves with no real cover for Ferland Mendy.
