Real Madrid are returning to the Santiago Bernabeu! After a strong start to the 2022/23 La Liga season, Los Blancos will welcome Real Betis to their backyard for the first home game of this campaign.

The title holders have collected 9 points from their first three league games, as have Real Betis, who are right below Real Madrid on the table, behind just on the basis of goal difference.

The previous time the two clubs met was in May, when neither side could score, resulting in a draw. On Saturday, though, the score is anticipated to be more than a 0-0 deadlock.

With that stated, here is how we think Real Madrid will line up when they face Real Betis on Saturday.

GK – Thibaut Courtois

The Belgian wall is expected to resume his role as Real Madrid’s undisputed goalkeeper against Real Betis, just as he would be against any other club. The player had a world-class season last time around and does not look to be slowing down, and his place in the starting XI is certain. Andriy Lunin, on the other hand, will have to be patient as he may receive minutes in the Copa Del Rey.

RB – Dani Carvajal

Carlo Ancelotti looks to be experimenting with positions early in the season, having fielded Lucas Vazquez as right back against Espanyol, most likely to see if him and Carvajal are sufficient for the position to make a decision on Alvaro Odriozola’s future quickly.

Carvajal was rested in the last game, which boosts the prospect of him starting at the Santiago Bernabeu.

CB – Eder Militao

The Brazilian defender has recently had some bad luck, but nothing has been so terrible as to suggest that he will be sitting on the bench anytime soon. He is expected keep his starting spot.

CB – David Alaba

In the last encounter, the player was assigned to the left back position, where he looked strong but not spectacular. His effect was not comparable to how he impacts the game from the centre of the field. Although it was a start, and Alaba is likely to grow more on the flank, we believe it would be a better option to play him in his natural position against Real Betis, who have scored 7 goals in their past three league games.

LB – Ferland Mendy

Mendy is anticipated to return to the left back position, where he has always provided defensive solidarity. His offensive output may be a point of question, but Vinicius’ presence ahead of him, who requires little to no assistance from the full-back, makes up for it. In the most likely scenario, Mendy will start.
