A lot of Real Madrid’s focus this summer has been on getting players off their books, who do not to have a clear future at the club. As a result, we have seen both youngsters as well as well-established senior players depart Santiago Bernabeu and the exits might not be over yet. A lot of rumours are doing the rounds at the moment.

There are a number of positions on the pitch, where this Real Madrid side are light on options. Goalkeeper is not one of them.

Thibaut Courtois is arguably the best goalkeeper in the world and is coming off of an all-time great performance in the Champions League final last season. On the other, Los Blancos have some very able cover for the Belgian in the form of Andriy Lunin, who might get a few more opportunities this season.

As a result, it is hard to see someone like Toni Fuidias get a chance in the first-team picture anytime soon, even though he has been very highly rated while coming through Real Madrid’s youth ranks, has impressive size and has played significant football at the Castilla level.

Real Madrid want to terminate the contract of the 21-year-old

As tweeted out by Sergio Santos, Real Madrid hope to reach an agreement with Fuidias before the end of the market to terminate his contract. Rayo Majadahonda are very interested.

With no clear pathway into the first-team, a move away might do Fuidias well. At 21 years of age, he needs to be playing regular first-team football at the senior level in order to develop his game further.

It is believed that Fuidias still has a year left on his current deal with Real Madrid and it remains to be seen if the club are able to reach an agreement over its termination.
