Real Madrid have already let a number of their players leave this summer, as it feels like Los Blancos are going through a bit of a squad overhaul at this point of time. And more players could be on their way out, before the transfer window slams shut. One such player, whose future is up in the air at the moment, is Alvaro Odriozola.

Odriozola has failed to establish himself in the first-team picture at Real Madrid. And with Dani Carvajal and Lucas Vazquez appearing to be ahead of him in the pecking order, hopes of first-team football look slim.

As a result, a move away from Real Madrid might be the best course of action for all parties involved. Recently, Odriozola has been linked with a return to Real Sociedad, the club whose youth ranks he came through and where he made a name for himself, and Villarreal, who seem like a very exciting project under the management of Unai Emery.

There seems to be interest in his signature from the Premier League as well though. As reported by AS (via Sport Witness), Nottingham Forest have now emerged as a ‘new suitor’ for Odriozola. It is also believed that the Spaniard would welcome a move to England.

Nottingham Forest want to sign Odriozola from Real Madrid

Nottingham Forest have a glorious history, having won the European Cup on two occasions, and have recently made a return to the Premier League, after spending decades in the Championship and they have splashed out this summer in an attempt to stay up in the top flight of English football.

It is not hard to see why the idea of moving to the Premier League could excite Odriozola, who has failed to fulfil his potential at Real Madrid.

He is still just 26 years of age though, and on paper, is entering his prime years. With the clock quickly ticking down though, it remains to be seen if a move happens or not.
