Marco Asensio’s future at Real Madrid has been a topic of hot discussion in recent weeks and days. The Spaniard is in the final year of his contract with Los Blancos and as a result, it should not come as a surprise that he has been linked with a move away from the club. Otherwise, he will be free to walkout as a free agent next summer.
It is believed that Real Madrid are willing to let him leave for a transfer fee in the region of €30 million this summer and over the past few weeks, Asensio has been linked with some huge names.
Clubs like Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool are believed to hold an interest in the player. But it looks like the Spaniard will not be making a Santiago Bernabeu exit before the summer transfer window slams shut.
As tweeted out by El Chiringuito TV, Asensio has decided to stay at Real Madrid.
Asensio has decided his Real Madrid future amid exit rumours
Asensio is nowhere near the starting XI at the moment and has only been brought on once this season and that too as a substitute, against Celta Vigo.
The fact that his future was up in the air could have had a lot to do with that though and as a result, it is very possible that he could get more playing time moving forward.
While Asensio was not a starter last season either, he did manage to make a meaningful contribution nonetheless.
According to stats from Transfermarkt, Asensio scored 12 goals and provided 2 assists in 42 appearances for Real Madrid in the 2021/22 season.
Anything similar would be considered as a huge contribution this time around, with Real Madrid not having any regular source of goals in the team at the moment other than Karim Benzema and Vinicius Jr.
