Real Madrid have lost a lot of experience this season, with one of the club legends leaving being Marcelo. The Brazilian had been one of the best left-backs in the world for years and played a key part in Los Blancos’ successes for a long time. But it was clear that the time had come to part ways and it was great to see him being able to say goodbye by lifting the La Liga and Champions League trophies.

It is interesting to see what Marcelo will do next though. On the pitch, it is pretty clear that he is not the player that he once was. But he can still bring a lot to a club, considering the amount of success that he has enjoyed through the course of his legendary career.

Amidst all this, Marcelo has been linked with a surprise move to the Premier League. Not many would have expected that, with the Brazilian being 34 years of age but it looks like Leicester City hold an interest in the Real Madrid legend.

As tweeted out by Marti Miras, Marcelo is very close to joining Leicester City.

Of course, amidst the surprise links, there are contrary reports as well. As tweeted out by Simon Stone, Marcelo to Leicester City is not happening.

So let’s see how things go from here. If Marcelo does end up at Leicester City, it would be a very fun transfer to say the least.

While he is nowhere near his prime at the moment, it would still be exciting to see what the Brazilian could do in the Premier League. With just hours left in the summer transfer window, everything will become very shortly regarding his future. No matter what happens though, we can only wish Marcelo the best of luck.
