Aurelien Tchouameni has been the hot topic of discussion amongst Real Madrid fans in recent weeks. The Frenchman did not enjoy a great La Liga debut in the royal white jersey, against Almeria, but since then, he has come into his own and is already starting to justify the massive transfer fee that Los Blancos shelled out to sign him.

He was brilliant in the middle of the park against Celta Vigo and then appeared to be even better vs Espanyol, with his no look pass to assist Vinicius Junior’s goal proving to be the cherry on top of what was an excellent performance already.

If this is the sign of things to come, then Real Madrid might very well have their next midfield star for the next decade or so. Of course, it might be a bit too early to make such lofty predictions but Tchouameni has just been that good.

Carlo Ancelotti seems to have been very impressed with the Real Madrid summer signing as well. As reported by Marca, the Real Madrid manager said about the French midfielder:

"“By characteristics he is the most suitable player for that position, but Camavinga has played there and Kroos is very reliable. It depends on how we want to play, if you want more control Kroos is very clean in the passes, if you need more energy Tchouaméni and Camavinga can do it better. Aurelien is a great midfielder, very focused on his work. He has been an extraordinary signing for the club.”"

Ancelotti sounds very happy with the start that Tchouameni has made to his Real Madrid career

It is safe to say that Tchouameni is already looking like a transfer masterstroke on the part of Real Madrid and one would expect him to only get better with time.

Thus, Real Madrid’s midfield seems shorted for the foreseeable future even though Luka Modric might be set to turn 37 and Toni Kroos is 32 years of age.

The club have an impressive core of youngsters in the middle of the park of Tchouameni himself, Eduardo Camavinga and Federico Valverde. And there is talk of Los Blancos making a move for Jude Bellingham next summer. Let’s see if they can pull it off or not with Liverpool also interested.
