Real Madrid have made a very good start to their season, winning all of their games in La Liga and also starting off their Champions League campaign with a 3-0 win over Celtic. But at the same time, nobody can deny that there are some clear problems with the team at the moment as well.

The biggest problem that Real Madrid have at this point of time is their lack of options up front, and no real cover for Karim Benzema.

We have seen Benzema make a stumbling start to this campaign as well. He did not seem to find his rhythm in most of the games that he had played, and then, the Frenchman also ended up picking an injury in the Champions League opener against Celtic, which could keep him out of action for around a month and see him miss some very important matches.

It will be very interesting to see how Carlo Ancelotti goes about filling the void left by the injury of Benzema. And it will be interesting to see if the Frenchman ends up picking any other injuries through the course of the season. In the worst case scenario, Real Madrid could end up dipping into the January transfer market.

Real Madrid could make move for French superstar in January

As reported by Defensa Central, if necessary in January, Real Madrid will make a move for Christopher Nkunku.

It goes without saying that it will be very difficult for Real Madrid to sign the Frenchman in the middle of the season, as he is a key player for RB Leipzig and scored 35 goals in the previous campaign, but this seems to be their plan if the situation absolutely calls for it.

Otherwise, it is hard to see Los Blancos making any further additions to their squad. Now, it remains to be seen how the season goes for Benzema and whether Real Madrid are able to come up with a cover plan for him as well.
