On LaLiga matchday 5, Real Madrid hosted RCD Mallorca at the Santiago Bernabeu in a game that could have concluded with more goals for the merengues. The hosts began the contest looking sharp and more creatively rich and dangerous. Several attempts were attempted to test the goalkeeper right away, which is rare for a team that often allows its opponent to dominate the first few minutes of the game.

However, despite getting early possession of the ball, Real Madrid was the first side to concede. The squad continued to work hard and run the game, which paid off when Fede Valverde scored a wonderful goal to tie the game at halftime.

Real Madrid capitalized on the momentum in the second half, wreaking havoc and scoring three spectacular goals to complete the game with a large margin of victory and hope.

With that said, here are the player ratings for the game:

GK – Thibaut Courtois

Courtois showed off his skill right when the game took off and made an incredible save to deny Mallorca of an early lead. Other than that, he was hardly called to test.

Rating: 7.0

LB – Ferland Mendy

Today’s performance was disappointing, and the player was caught off guard multiple times. He was frequently observed engaging in clumsy unsolicited challenges, one of which earned him a yellow card. Mendy could have easily stopped the goal from Mallorca with a simple leap. His position is not under jeopardy, but there is room for improvement.

Rating: 5.0

CB – Antonio Rudiger

The German was excellent. He was excellent in defence and scored his first goal for Real Madrid from a set piece. Rudiger was the ideal and maybe superior substitute with Militao out injured.

Rating: 8.0

CB – David Alaba

David Alaba was in good shape. Despite the fact that Mallorca posed no danger, he was more focused on guarding the ball. He probably didn’t need to use his attacking prowess today. A decent game.

Rating: 7.0

RB – Lucas Vazquez

The former winger got off to a slow start in the game. He was unable to make as big of an impact from the flank as he normally does. However, this cost the squad nothing and likely provided Rodrygo more room to settle in. Then, in the second half, Vazquez was more imaginative and attempted a couple attempts. He was OK since Dani Carvajal was on rest.
