Once again, it might not have been a classic performance from Real Madrid, but they were good enough to get the job done and secure all three points. Los Blancos got a 4-1 win over Mallorca with Federico Valverde, Rodrygo, Vinicius Jr and Antonio Rudiger finding the back of the net on the day for the defending champions.

This win was extremely important for Real Madrid as Barcelona had gone top of the table the previous day, albeit having played a game more, after beating Cadiz 4-0. Now, Los Blancos are back on the top of the table.

But while Real Madrid fans were delighted with the result, not every player appeared to be happy on the day.

As reported by FourFourTwo, Marco Asensio reacted angrily to being left on the bench by Carlo Ancelotti in the game against Mallorca. The Spanish winger was asked to warm up by the Italian coach, but did not make it onto the pitch and was clearly not happy as he threw a bottle and a bib and appeared to kick a cool box in frustration when he was told he would be an unused substitute on the day.

Real Madrid player was not happy at being left on the bench once again

Asensio was expected to leave the club this summer, with just a year left on his contract and after being linked with the likes of Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal. But nothing materialised and he ended up staying at Real Madrid.

Things are not going his way at the moment though. Owing to the impressive form of the likes of Vinicius, Rodrygo and even Valverde, he seems to be at the bottom of the pecking order for Real Madrid on the wing.

It remains to be seen if the situation will change for Asensio over the coming weeks or not.
