Real Madrid maintain their perfect start to the season, with a 2-0 win over RB Leipzig. For a long time, it had looked like the game was headed for a draw or even a win for the German side, who had been the much better team in the first 45 minutes, while Los Blancos looked toothless in attack in the absence of Karim Benzema.

But then, Real Madrid managed to find a way to win, like they always seem to do. Fede Valverde scored a wonderful goal in the 80th minute to put the home side ahead and then Marco Asensio found the back of the net in order to make it 2-0 and seal the win.

This win maintains Real Madrid’s perfect record this season. They won the Super Cup, and have won all of their La Liga and Champions League games as well till now. Many fans were claiming that they were lucky to lift the cup with the big ears last season, but the more they win, the more ridiculous those claims start to sound.

Amidst all this, it looks like the club are planning for a contract extension as well. As reported by CalcioMercato, Real Madrid are working on the renewal of Nacho Fernandez. His current deal is believed to run till the summer of 2023. Los Blancos are aiming for an annual renewal, until 2024.

Now it is no secret that Nacho is not a regular starter for Real Madrid, but he remains a valuable member of the squad nonetheless.

He is someone that they can rely on to come on and put in a solid display all the time. And he has a lot of experience as well.

Thus, keeping Nacho at the club would be a right decision for Real Madrid.
