This summer was supposed to be when Real Madrid finally signed Kylian Mbappe, after being linked with the Frenchman for years and he was finally solidified as the next the global superstar of the game. Except, it did not happen and he ended up extending his contract with Paris Saint-Germain for three more years.
Not too long afterwards, and Mbappe’s future is making the headlines once again. Rumours have suggested that only two of the three years in the Frenchman’s contract are fixed and the final year is optional, which can only be activated by the player himself.
Considering the terms of the deal, it does feel like Mbappe is not too certain about the direction of PSG and is holding all the cards himself. Unsurprisingly, the rumours linking him with a move to Real Madrid are back on. What do Los Blancos think of the entire matter though?
As reported by Marca, news of Mbappe’s contract hasn’t altered Real Madrid’s approach. While they haven’t closed the door on signing the Frenchman in the future, nobody at the club is focused on that at the moment.
Real Madrid’s stance on Mbappe move revealed
It will be very interesting to see what the future holds for Mbappe. PSG will once again have a big decision to make next summer.
Either they could try to bring in a transfer fee for his departure. Or they hope that he decides to activate the final year on his deal a season later. Otherwise, the French giants would risk losing him for nothing.
Mbappe is enjoying a great season on the pitch and seems to have struck up a very good partnership with Lionel Messi. But, questions have also been raised about his attitude recently. On the other hand, Real Madrid also have Vinicius Jr already in their ranks. Thus, the situation is far more complicated.
