Real Madrid have had an incredible time when it comes to signing players from Brazil in recent years. The two best examples are Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo. Both of them arrived at Santiago Bernabeu as youngsters with raw potential and have developed into first-team stars.

Vinicius has been incredible for Real Madrid since last season. He was always an incredible dribbler of the ball but now, he has improved his finishing as well, which has made him lethal in front of goal and he is looking like a future Ballon d’Or contender.

On the other hand, it looks like Rodrygo is set to enjoy his breakout season at Real Madrid this time around. He has had a brilliant campaign till now and might end up establishing himself as the regular at right wing at this rate.

It looks like Los Blancos have their eyes on another Brazilian youngster now. As reported by 90min, Liverpool and Real Madrid both remain interested in Brazilian midfielder Joao Gomes.

Of course, there are other big clubs also interested in Gomes. As reported by talkSPORT, Liverpool and Manchester United are both monitoring the Brazilian midfielder.

Thus, it is safe to say that the race for Gomes’ signature is expected to be very tight if or when he ends up leaving Flamengo.

Gomes is 21 years of age and currently plays as a defensive midfielder for Flamengo and has been able to impress recently.

Real Madrid suffered a blow in that area in the summer when Casemiro left in order to join Manchester United. While Aurelien Tchouameni has done an incredible job when it comes to filling in his void, perhaps the club could do with another option there, which is where Gomes comes in. Let’s see how things go.
