Real Madrid are very close to €30 million Brazilian star

Real Madrid made a bit of a shock decision this summer when they let Casemiro leave the club and join Manchester United. The Brazilian had been a key part of Los Blancos for years and played a major part in them winning several Champions League titles during his time at the club and formed a legendary trio with Luka Modric and Toni Kroos.

Thus, it was very sad to see him leave but in hindsight, the club might have made a very good decision. Aurelien Tchouameni has come in and slot in seamlessly into the team, is already a starter and looks like he has been playing for Real Madrid for years now.

When you consider the attributes that the Frenchman has, his ceiling might be even higher than that of Casemiro and that is an exciting thought.

But it appears that Real Madrid have another Brazilian defensive midfielder in their sights as well, as they look to fill the gap left behind by Casemiro in this team. The player in question is Joao Gomes, who currently plays for Flamengo.

As tweeted out by Martin Liberman, Gomes is very close to Real Madrid and Los Blancos would pay €30 million for him.

It is safe to say that he is very highly rated considering the fact that he has been linked with clubs like Manchester United and Liverpool already and as a result, if Real Madrid are able to sign the 21-year-old then it would be considered as a major coup on their part.

At the same time though, the club have also been linked with Jude Bellingham recently as well and one has to wonder if Real Madrid are looking to sign too many midfielders at the same time.

Luka Modric and Toni Kroos are still going strong while Tchouameni, Eduardo Camavinga, Federico Valverde and Dani Ceballos are doing a great job as well.
