In April 2022, Real Madrid signed Brazilian talent Vinicius Tobias on a season-long loan from Shakhtar Donetsk, with the option to make the transfer permanent if the player impresses and improves during his time in Madrid.

Tobias was a member of the pre-season team that toured to the United States for a series of games, where he made his unofficial first team debut against Club America and became an instant centre of attraction. The youngster is a pure talent with plenty of room for development, which is why he is entrusted to Raul’s tutelage at Castilla.

To summarize his playing style, he is a quick dribbler who plays more like a winger than a fullback. He possesses superior dribbling abilities at the age of 18 and is consistently growing in the youth team.

Ancelotti is also an admirer, and he routinely invites him to train with the first squad. While Tobias will have to spend the majority of his time with Castilla, a few moves up and down the first team would be interesting to see and evaluate his growth.

Nonetheless, even if he does not earn official minutes, his arrival hopefully marks a long-term investment for the future that is expected to pay off after Dani Carvajal hangs his boots.
