Real Madrid player will not be offered new contract
Real Madrid have a number of players in their squad right now whose contracts will be expiring next year or so. Thus, the club have a few tough decisions to make when it comes to offering them extensions or parting ways, and starting looking for their replacements. In terms of a few, the decision might not be as difficult though.
Mariano Diaz is one such player, who has pretty much become an afterthought at Real Madrid. His current deal is set to run out next summer and unless something incredibly unexpected happens between now and then, it feels like his time at Santiago Bernabeu is coming to an end.
As reported by AS, out of the seven players whose contracts run out in 2023, one of the players who will not continue for sure is Mariano.
That might be the best step for all parties involved as well though. On one hand, he does not seem to be anywhere near the first-team plans and could be helped by going somewhere where he will have a role to play. On the other hand, Real Madrid will get the opportunity to bring in a replacement who might actually have an impact on the team.

Mariano was brought back from Lyon, after a great time in France and was controversially handed the number 7 shirt vacated by Cristiano Ronaldo.
It is safe to say that things have not gone as hoped even though early expectations where clearly high surrounding the return of Mariano to Real Madrid.
Well, that is how football is sometimes and hopefully, everyone can take this as a learning experience. Real Madrid have continued to win despite the failure of the move while Mariano has gotten to add a few medals to his cabinet.
