Real Madrid have an incredible habit of pulling off brilliant free transfers. Last summer, they managed to bring in David Alaba after his deal with Bayern Munich had run out. And he has come in and established himself as one of the most important members of the team and played a key role in their Champions League win last season.

This time around, the club were able to bring in Antonio Rudiger on a free transfer. The German defender had established himself as one of the best centre-backs in the world under the management of Thomas Tuchel and helped deliver a Champions League to Chelsea.

Next summer, Real Madrid could have the opportunity to sign another elite defender on a free transfer in the form of Milan Skriniar.

Skriniar has been considered as one of the best centre-backs in Italy for a long time now and has been a key player for Inter Milan, as they have undergone a bit of a resurgence in recent years, even winning the Serie A title a couple of seasons back. His current deal runs out next summer though and he is yet to agree to a new one.

Real Madrid should make a move for Inter Milan star next summer if he becomes a free agent

It is safe to say that Skriniar is too good of a player to pass up on, if he does become available as a free agent.

At the same time, many might question how many centre-backs is enough, and that is a good argument with the club already having Alaba, Rudiger and Eder Militao competing for two spots in the starting XI.

But then, Alaba is someone who can easily slot in at left-back or even in the middle of the park if the situation calls for it.
