Real Madrid have had to battle with quite a few injuries this season already. It was in the game against Atletico Madrid that Eder Militao made a return from his muscle overload while Karim Benzema has finally returned to training with his teammates just recently. When things were finally looking up, Los Blancos have been handed another injury problem.
Once again this season, Luka Modric has been absolutely sensational. But it looks like Real Madrid might have to do without the Croatian maestro for the next week or so.
Modric seems to have suffered an injury while away on international duty with the Croatian national team.
As tweeted out by Jose Luis Sanchez, Modric has returned with a muscle injury at the height of the hip. It looks like he could be out for around 10 days but he is expected to be in the El Clasico against Barcelona.

It is safe to say that this is not good news for Real Madrid at all. Modric is extremely important to this side even at 37 years of age and him being out of action for even a short amount of time is a problem for Los Blancos.
But at the same time, the club do have some impressive depth in midfield, with the likes of Toni Kroos, Aurelien Tchouameni, Fede Valverde, Eduardo Camavinga and Dani Ceballos.
Thus, on paper, they should be able to deal with Modric being out for the next ten days or so. It remains to be seen if they can show that on the pitch as well, where it will matter.
Real Madrid do have some big games coming up and the biggest positive out of all of this is the fact that Modric is expected to be fit in time to face Barcelona.
