Real Madrid handed huge Joao Cancelo transfer boost

Rumours broke out earlier today that Real Madrid were interested in signing Joao Cancelo from Manchester City next summer. It goes without saying that that is big news, as the Portuguese star has been one of the Citizens’ best players for a while and could represent a terrific addition for Los Blancos.

Cancelo is capable of playing in both full-back positions and thus, he could compete with both Dani Carvajal and Ferland Mendy for starting spots, and bring something very different to the table for Carlo Ancelotti’s side.

At the same time though, it would not be easy to sign him from Manchester City. He is believed to be one of Pep Guardiola’s favourite players at the club right now and is rated at a transfer fee of around €60 million. Thus, this has the potential to be a Galactico signing for Real Madrid and they have been handed a boost as well.

Manchester City will not be expected to make it easy for Real Madrid to sign him but at the same time, they are not a club who are known to stand in the way of players leaving.
