Real Madrid appear to have missed out their chance to sign a generational talent in Erling Haaland, from Borussia Dortmund this summer, as he ended up joining Manchester City. As a result, it looks like Los Blancos are keen not to repeat the mistake next time around and are already laying the foundations as a result.

The next big name who could be on his way out of Borussia Dortmund is Jude Bellingham. It is hard to believe that the English midfielder is just 19 years of age.

He is already captaining a team the size of Borussia Dortmund, one of the biggest in all of Europe, in the Champions League. And putting in performances beyond his years on a consistent basis.

It is pretty clear that he could be one of the best midfielders in the world in the near future and thus, there is expected to be a big race to sign him next summer. And Real Madrid seem to have taken a major step in that respect.

As reported by Marca, the conversations and fieldwork around the English midfield sensation began a year ago, but now it has already moved on to the phase of talking about numbers.

It is believed that it will take a transfer fee north of €100 million to sign Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund next summer, with some there being some suggestions that the figure could end up going as high as €150 million.

It goes without saying that that is a big figure but considering how good Bellingham has been and the current situation of the transfer market, it might very well be a move worth making. The likes of Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City are also being linked with him though. Thus, it will be tight.
