It is safe to say that Real Madrid are one of the clubs interested in signing Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund next summer. The English midfielder has emerged as a true prodigy during his stint in Germany and is expected to move on at the end of the season, as he has already established himself as one of the best in the Bundesliga.

It is hard to believe that Bellingham is still just 19 years of age. Not only is he one of the best plying his trade in the German league but he is already captaining Borussia Dortmund, a remarkable achievement for someone of his age.

Thus, it is no surprise that there are so many top clubs believed to be interested in the signature of Bellingham and Real Madrid appear to be one of them.

Some rumours had suggested that Bellingham actually preferred a move to Santiago Bernabeu over others. But now, as reported by Cadena SER (via Mundo Deportivo), the English midfielder prefers Liverpool and prioritizes returning to his country over signing for Real Madrid.

Bellingham reportedly prefers move to Liverpool over Real Madrid

It goes without saying that this news will come as a blow for Real Madrid. There have been suggestions that Los Blancos see him as their top target for next summer.

Real Madrid already have a stacked midfield which consists of the likes of Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, Dani Ceballos, Federico Valverde, Aurelien Tchouameni and Eduardo Camavinga.

There are rumours though that Kroos could decide to retire at the end of this season. On the other hand, Modric is 37 years of age while Ceballos could possibly depart in the not too distant future as well.

Thus, it would not be a surprise if Real Madrid are already preparing for a bit of a midfield shuffle and there are few options available right now who are as good as Bellingham.
