Where does Fede Valverde rank among the best young midfielders in the world right now?

A sacrilege on the part of a Madridista to praise a player from eternal rivals Barcelona. From a neutral point of view, Pedri has been one of the best young talents in the world right now with applaudable performances for Barcelona and Spanish National Team. 

During his time at Las Palmas and now in Barcelona, Pedri has been granted a free-roaming role in the midfield department. Adept in creating space and picking out teammates in lethal areas, the 19-year-old Spaniard has been compared to the likes of Andreas Iniesta and Xavi — Barcelona’s finest.

The coveted Kopa Trophy in 2021 is undoubtedly the first of many for Pedri’s breakthrough season with the Catalan giants. Despite Barca’s dilapidated form last season, Pedri pulled the strings and exhibited some masterful performances of exemplary passing and creating chances by using his slim figure to break through the opponent’s midfield.

The youngster is without a doubt one of the best young midfielders in the world right now, and he is on his way to bigger and better things. His game is developing with each game, and it won’t be long until he is one of the most significant figures for the Catalan side and the club’s head.
