Eder Militao’s primary job might be to keep oppositions from scoring against Real Madrid but he found his name on the score sheet against Getafe. It proved to be the winner as well and sealed all three points for Los Blancos on the day to send them back to the top of the La Liga table, although Barcelona have a game in hand.

It must be pointed out that Barcelona have made a lot of progress this season, after enjoying quite the summer transfer window. And thus, the La Liga title race could prove to be very tight.

As a result, there is an added importance to the El Clasicos, which could end up having huge implications on the destination of the La Liga title come the end of the season. Real Madrid have been handed a Militao injury worry heading into their upcoming game against Barcelona though.

Carlo Ancelotti has admitted that Militao has muscle spasms. As reported by GOAL, the Real Madrid manager said:

"“I will use more rotations against Shakhtar. (Eder) Militao has muscle spasms. I don’t know who will play in defence against Shakhtar, but whoever it is will do well. I have a committed group that plays great.”"

Real Madrid suffer Militao blow before facing Barcelona in El Clasico next weekend

It is safe to say that Real Madrid would want to have Militao available when they take on Barcelona next weekend at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The Brazilian has been successful in establishing himself as a key player for Real Madrid and thus, him not being available would be a major blow for Los Blancos without a shadow of a doubt.

We have seen Militao already spend a short spell out on the sidelines due to a muscle related problem earlier on in the campaign. Hopefully, it is nothing serious and perhaps giving him rest against Shakhtar Donetsk could end up solving the issue.

If Militao does miss out, Real Madrid do have two very good options in Antonio Rudiger and David Alaba to partner in the heart of defence.
