Real Madrid have got their transfers right in recent yeas and that is the biggest reason behind the continued success of this team, despite the fact that they have spent less on transfer fees than several mid table teams in the English Premier League. Of course, there have been some high profile moves that have not worked out, like the one for Eden Hazard. But overall, their strike rate in terms of successful transfers is quite positive.

One of their best signings in recent years has been Eder Militao. He was not an unknown by any stretch of the imagination and was coming off of a very good season with FC Porto. It is believed that Los Blancos shelled out a fee in the region of €50 million to sign him.

But he was definitely not the player that he has developed into at Real Madrid. He is easily one of the best defenders in the world right now.

Thus, it should come as no surprise that the club are interested in keeping him at the club for the long-term. As reported by AS, Real Madrid will announce his renewal shortly.

Real Madrid are set to announce the renewal of the defender soon

Real Madrid have a number of brilliant defenders in their squad right now. In fact, Militao is competing for a starting spot with the likes of David Alaba and Antonio Rudiger.

Both of them are two of the best centre-backs in the world at the moment as well, but the Brazilian has certainly held his own against them.

In fact, he might actually be the first-choice in Carlo Ancelotti’s squad which just goes on to show how good he has been and hopefully, he will continue to get even better moving forward. Let’s see what the future holds for the Brazilian.
