Not too long ago, Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid was a transfer that was believed to be destined. The Frenchman was even given a hero’s welcome by Los Blancos supporters when he played at Santiago Bernabeu last season for Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.

Back then, the feeling was that the Real Madrid fans were looking at their next superstar before he eventually made the move in the summer, when his contract with PSG ran out. Except, he did not.

Mbappe would go on to sign a bumper new deal with PSG, thereby, turning down the chance to move to Real Madrid. It goes without saying that that did not make the club’s supporters happy and a lot of them do not want to see the Frenchman pull on the Royal White jersey in the future.

Yet, just months on from signing his new deal with PSG, Mbappe’s future in the French capital is up in the air again. Where do Real Madrid come into all of this though?

As reported by Marca, the relationship between Mbappe and Paris Saint-Germain is now completely broken. He already asked to leave in July and has been working on his departure next January. The French giants do not seem ready to let him go to Real Madrid though and Liverpool could be his only feasible option. The World Cup winner still wants to wear white one day.

Thus, it is safe to say that the situation is pretty shaky at this point of time and it will be interesting to see how everything unfolds and how Real Madrid end up reacting to the entire situation.

Should the club even end up making a move for Mbappe though, considering how things have turned out for him at PSG? There is no question about his talent but is he the kind of player that Carlo Ancelotti should bring into the culture that he has built up at Santiago Bernabeu?
