The Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid transfer saga just seems to have no end in sight. It was initially believed as only a matter of time before he would end up at Santiago Bernabeu, just like his idol Cristiano Ronaldo. Yet, it did not end up happening, as the Frenchman decided to extend his contract with PSG.

Yet, just a few months later and the future of Mbappe is a topic of discussion once again. It looks like he is already looking to leave PSG and the name of Real Madrid has naturally started to do the rounds of the media as a potential destination for the Frenchman.

Would Real Madrid even be interested in making a move for Mbappe though, after being let down in the summer when he agreed a contract extension with PSG instead of joining them on a free transfer and becoming the face of Los Blancos.

As reported by Marca, the future of Real Madrid does not go through Mbappe. The Frenchman had the option to choose and he did and what Los Blancos have done since then is stay out of everything that happens in Paris and build a team like the one they have right now and the French World Cup winner has no place in that.

Do Real Madrid even need Mbappe anymore?

Of course, there will always be an attraction towards making a move for a superstar like Mbappe. But the question is, do Real Madrid even need him?

In Vini Jr, they have a player in their ranks who might be just as good and has superstar potential as well. And Mbappe would be direct competition for the Brazilian, as it does not look like the Frenchman wants to play as a forward.

On the other hand, one also has to question whether Mbappe is the right profile of player to bring into the dressing room culture that Carlo Ancelotti has been successful in building up at Santiago Bernabeu.
