It looks like nobody has come out the winner from the Kylian Mbappe saga of the summer. On one hand, Real Madrid did not get the player that they had appeared to have earmarked as the next face of their team. On the other hand, while PSG managed to get the Frenchman to agree to a new deal, some months on and rumours suggest that he wants to leave again. And ultimately, it looks like the player is not happy with his situation either.

One of the reasons that Mbappe seems to be looking for a PSG exit so soon after agreeing a new deal, is their underwhelming summer transfer window, when the French giants took a more conservative approach than we have come to expect of them over the years.

As reported by Marca, Aurelien Tchouameni was Mbappe’s first recommendation in terms of reinforcements.

The move did not end up happening though as the French midfield maestro would end up joining Real Madrid instead and it has been smooth sailing for him since then.

Tchouameni has been a star for Real Madrid since arriving

It is incredible how well Tchouameni has adjusted to life at Real Madrid. It feels like he has been at the club for a decade already, when in reality, it is just the start of his first season in the Royal White jersey.

And his performances have been something to behold. Real Madrid have not felt the absence of the legendary Casemiro, simply because of how good Tchouameni has been and how seamlessly he has taken up the Brazilian’s role in the team.

Tchouameni is expected to be one of Real Madrid’s primary stars for years to come after his superb start. On the other hand, who knows where Mbappe’s future lies? Chances of it being at Santiago Bernabeu seem slim though.
