Real Madrid will be hoping to go into the first El Clasico of the season, against Barcelona, with their best squad possible because it is expected to be a tight game between the two best clubs in Spain, with both sitting on the same number of points although Xavi’s sides are ahead based on the fact that they have a better goal difference than Los Blancos till now.

Neither team had a good performance in midweek. Real Madrid had to rely on a heroic late goal from Antonio Rudiger to draw 1-1 vs Shakhtar Donetsk while Barcelona could only manage a 3-3 draw vs Inter Milan to leave their Champions League hopes hanging by a thread.

But when the two teams meet at Santiago Bernabeu, form is expected to go out of the window, as is often the case when it comes to the El Clasico.

Both teams have major injury problems at this point of time but Real Madrid have been handed a boost in that regard before El Clasico, as it looks like Rudiger is set to be available on the day.

As reported by Marca, Rudiger looks set to be fit. The German took to the field in his boots to train with his teammates. Without a mask, and with his eye much more recovered, and the central defender is taking all the necessary steps to be included in the squad.

If Rudiger is indeed able to make the matchday squad then it would be a huge boost for Real Madrid as he has already become a vital player.

On the other hand, Barcelona are missing a number of key defenders at the moment and look weak at the back, which was pretty clear in their display vs Inter Milan.
