Real Madrid and Barcelona will take to the pitch at Santiago Bernabeu soon to face each other in the first El Clasico of the season. It is pretty clear that the La Liga title race is between the two clubs this time around. Los Blancos might have walked to the trophy last time, but things won’t be that simple on this occasion.

Barcelona have strengthened their squad significantly over the summer, bringing in players like Robert Lewandowski, Jules Kounde, Raphinha, Andreas Christensen, Franck Kessie, Marcos Alonso and Hector Bellerin. And while their European campaign might have been disappointing till now, Xavi’s side are delivering in domestic competition.

Barcelona currently sit on the top of the La Liga table, ahead of Real Madrid on the basis of goal difference. It is not just on the pitch that the two sides might be competing though.

As reported by SPORT, Real Madrid would be interested in acquiring the services of Alphonso Davies. On the other hand, Barcelona would be closely following the Bayern Munich left-back.

Real Madrid and Barcelona are interested in the same left-back

Davies burst onto the scene at Bayern Munich by playing a key part in their Champions League triumph a few years back. Since then, he has had his struggles with injuries as well as health issues.

But Davies is back on the pitch now and playing regular football for Bayern Munich once again. Still just 21 years of age, the future is very bright for him without a shadow of a doubt.

His current deal with Bayern Munich runs out in the summer of 2025 and it is unclear whether Davies would even be interested in leaving the German club. But someone like him would be a big signing for both Real Madrid and Barcelona, if they can bring him to Spain.
