Real Madrid’s midfield is one of the best in the world right now. The club have two legends in the form of Luka Modric and Toni Kroos, who are still going strong and performing at the very top level even though retirement might not be too far away. At the same time, Los Blancos are prepared for the future as well though, with players like Aurelien Tchouameni, Eduardo Camavinga and Federico Valverde. The trio could very easily be at Santiago Bernabeu for the next decade or so.

On top of that, Real Madrid have also been linked with a potential move for Jude Bellingham, who at 19 years of age is captaining Borussia Dortmund and might very well go on to be the best midfielder of this generation.

One player who does find himself in an interesting situation amidst all this is Dani Ceballos. He is not a regular starter by any means, but has shown a ton of improvement and become a reliable cover in the middle of the park for Real Madrid.

His current deal with the club runs out next summer though and it looks like he is drawing the interest of Jose Mourinho’s AS Roma already.

AS Roma have an eye on Real Madrid midfielder

As tweeted out by Rudy Galetti, AS Roma are continuing to monitor some midfielders, which includes Ceballos. The club would like to bring in a reinforcement in the middle of the park in January.

It goes without saying that Ceballos is not expected to be a starter for Real Madrid anytime soon unless something unexpected does not happen.

On the other hand, the Spaniard has shown enough improvement over time to suggest that he could be a solid midfielder for most clubs across Europe. Thus, AS Roma might be the perfect place for him if he does leave Real Madrid.
