Real Madrid will be looking to get the better of Barcelona when the two sides meet in the first El Clasico of the campaign, set to be played at the Santiago Bernabeu. With both teams having the same number of points, whoever wins will top the La Liga table. If it is a draw, Xavi’s side will remain first due to their better goal difference. One man who has already shown how to get the better of the Catalan giants though is Lautaro Martinez.

Inter Milan drew 3-3 at Camp Nou in midweek to send Barcelona on the verge of elimination from the Champions League group stage for the second season running. And Lautaro was the star of the show.

First, the Argentine scored a brilliant goal for Inter Milan, and then he set up Robin Gosens with a sublime assist late in the game. While it was ultimately not enough to win the game, Lautaro showed what he was capable of.

As reported by CalcioMercatoWeb, Real Madrid will start looking for the heir to Karim Benzema soon and could think of Lautaro. Inter Milan are believed to value him at around €100 million.

Lautaro’s form has been a curious case over the years though, as he seems to be someone who blows hot and cold.

Even coming into the game against Barcelona, he was not in good form. But on the night, he looked like one of the top strikers in the world.

Ultimately, over the course of the season, Lautaro does deliver the goods though. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 78 goals and provided 26 assists in 194 appearances for Inter Milan. And one must remember for quite a lot of that time, he was playing as the partner to Romelu Lukaku. As the focal point of the attack, his numbers go up further, as we saw last season.
