Real Madrid have a fantastic team right now, as is evidenced by the fact that they are yet to lose a match this season and must be considered as the favourites to retain their La Liga and Champions League titles based on current form. Of course, things never stay still at a club of this size and Los Blancos already seem to be looking towards future signings.

One player who is rumoured to be on their sights is Napoli sensation Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who arrived in Naples this summer and has taken both Italian and European football by storm.

Kvaratskhelia has been absolutely sensational early on in the campaign and some of the European heavyweights already seem to be eyeing a move for him in the near future. Real Madrid are believed to be one of them.

Interestingly, Carlo Ancelotti has been aware of Kvaratskhelia for a long time, since back when he was the Napoli manager, a post he left in 2019. As reported by Corriere dello Sport, the Italian coach told Rai Sport:

"“Kvaratskhelia the surprise? Only for those who didn’t know him… We already followed him when I was in Naples. He is a special player.”"

Real Madrid manager has not been surprised by the rise of Kvaratskhelia at Napoli

It is safe to say that Kvaratskhelia has already established himself as one of the best players in Italy and his performances in the Champions League have been on a different level as well.

In fact, Napoli fans have paid him the highest of compliments by giving him the nickname ‘Kvaradona’ which is a nod to club and football icon, Diego Maradona. That is the kind of impression that Kvaratskhelia has been able to make at Napoli in such a short time.

Now, it remains to be seen if Real Madrid do indeed end up making a move for him in the future or not. Of course, they are not the only club being linked with Kvaratskhelia, with the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City also rumoured to be holding an interest in the player and it might take a nine-figure transfer fee to sign him from Napoli.
