One could argue that on current form, Federico Valverde is Real Madrid’s most important player. The Uruguayan has been absolutely stunning this season and taken his game to a level that not even his biggest fans could have seen coming.

It is hard to believe now but Valverde scored just one goal last season. This time around, he is scoring one stunner after another from outside the box and seems like an unstoppable force.

Valverde has always been highly regarded at Real Madrid for his overall quality, but now, he has added goals to his game as well and has everything that it takes to be the best midfielder on the planet one day. He certainly has to be in that conversation solely based on the ongoing season.

Unfortunately for Los Blancos, the Uruguayan picked up a knock in the 3-1 win over Sevilla and while a short term issue, it will keep him out for a few days. As reported by AS, Valverde will miss the Champions League match between Real Madrid and RB Leipzig on Tuesday. He underwent tests, which showed bruising. The in-form midfielder will be out for a few days, and Carlo Ancelotti will be able to count on him for next Sunday’s game against Girona.

It is safe to say that the injury for Valverde could not have come at a worse time with him being in the form of his life.

While the good thing is that it is not a serious problem, fans will be hoping that it does not end up derailing the incredible momentum that he has built up this season.

Real Madrid have already booked their place in the last 16 of the Champions League and thus, Valverde’s absence in the game will not be a major factor on this occasion.
