Federico Valverde has been Real Madrid’s best player of this season till now. The Uruguayan has been out of this world and is playing the best football of his career by quite some margin. He had always been appreciated for what he brought to the table but he has now taken his game to the next level.
It is hard to believe that he scored just one goal last season, because at the moment, if Valverde takes a shot from distance, it goes in.
Carlo Ancelotti joked that he would retire if Valverde did not score 10 goals this season. At the rate that the Uruguayan is going though, it would be a surprise if he does not end up hitting double that figure.
Real Madrid were handed a scare though as it looked like Valverde had picked up a knock in the game vs Sevilla. The initial feeling was that it was not serious and thankfully, that is the case. As tweeted out by Miguel Angel Diaz, the tests that the player has undergone this morning confirm that he has no injury to his right thigh. It is just a strong blow.
Real Madrid have been handed Valverde injury boost after scare vs Sevilla
Valverde is arguably Real Madrid’s best player at this point of time. The Uruguayan has been scoring for fun and his overall play has always been excellent.
Not just that, but Valverde is doing this in multiple positions across the pitch, which makes him even more vital.
Thus, him picking up any sort of injury would have been a big blow for the club and it is great news that his blow against Sevilla was nothing serious. Let’s see if he is fit in time to feature against RB Leipzig but with nothing riding on the result, Los Blancos should not risk him if there is any doubt.
