Real Madrid have the most complete midfield in all of Europe. They have two all-time greats in Luka Modric and Toni Kroos, who are still performing at the very top level. Then they also have someone like Federico Valverde, who has blossomed into a superstar this season. Aurelien Tchouameni has come in the summer and seamlessly replaced a legend like Casemiro, and Eduardo Camavinga is a supreme talent. Dani Ceballos has also improved a lot.

Yet, there are some question marks over the position as well. Modric is 37 years of age and will need to be replaced sooner or later. Kroos is rumoured to be considering retirement at the end of this campaign. And Ceballos might leave at the end of this season when his contract runs out.

On the other hand, rumours have suggested that Jude Bellingham of Borussia Dortmund is Real Madrid’s number one target for next summer, and things might be picking up pace.

While speaking on the ESPN FC YouTube channel, Rodrigo Faez said that Real Madrid will start some serious talks soon to sign Bellingham for the next season.

Someone like Bellingham could prove to be an incredible coup for any club in the world right now. There is a good chance that he could be competing for the Ballon d’Or one day.

At 19 years of age, he is one of the best players in the Bundesliga, proven himself at the Champions League level and is even captaining a club like Borussia Dortmund.

It goes without saying that he is an incredible talent and it would take a transfer higher than €100 million to sign him from Borussia Dortmund, with some rumours even suggesting that the figure could go as high as €150 million and that clubs like Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United and others are interested.
