Real Madrid have had their eyes on the brightest talents on the planet for many years now, as they have moved away from their Galactico policy in the ever changing landscape of football. Instead, Los Blancos have now made a reputation for themselves of signing highly rated young players and transforming them into superstars at the club, showing unrivalled patience and expertise.

Two of the best examples of this strategy working are Vinicius Jr and Rodrygo, who struggled in their early seasons in Spain but the club never gave up on them and continued to provide them with chances. And now, they have repaid that faith and become first-team regulars.

It should come as no surprise that Real Madrid are believed to have their eyes on Endrick as well, who is considered by many as the biggest talent to come out of Brazilian football since Neymar.

Endrick’s numbers at the youth levels are sensational and now, he is making his mark at senior level as well, having just started playing for Palmeiras’ first-team at just 16 years of age.

Real Madrid’s €60 million target breaks 106-year record

As tweeted out by Fabrizio Romano, at 16 years, 3 months and 4 days of age, Endrick became the youngest player in the history of Palmeiras to score a goal with the first team. He is also the youngest player to score a goal in the history of Brasileirão. The Brazilian wonderkid has a €60 million release clause in his contract.

As reported by O Globo (via Marca), Endrick breaks a record that lasted 106 years by overtaking Heitor, who had scored for Palmeiras at the age of 16 years, 11 months and 14 days in a 4-1 victory against Associacao Atletica das Palmeiras on 3 December, 1916.

Endrick’s history-making goal came in the 70th minute of Palmeiras’ recent game against Athletico Paranaense.

Endrick is still just 16 years of age and will not be able to leave for Europe before he is 18. A number of top clubs have been linked with him already. Other than Real Madrid, teams like Chelsea, PSG, Barcelona and several others are also believed to be in the race to sign him.

But Real Madrid’s brilliant record of developing players from Brazil into superstars in recent years might very well hand them an advantage in the Endrick transfer race.
