Barcelona want to sign 17-year-old Real Madrid target
A lot of Real Madrid’s success in recent years has been built upon signing young South American talents and developing them into superstars at the club itself. The names of Vinicius Jr, Federico Valverde and Rodrygo come to mind immediately. And it appears Barcelona might be looking to walk the same path as well, as they try to return to the top of Spanish and European football.
For decades, Barcelona had a reputation for developing youngsters, but seemed to move away from that for a few years, when they went on a run of making big Galactico-style signings instead, which did not pay off and the club find themselves in a terrible situation right now.
Thus, they appear to be rethinking their approach once again. And one of the young talents that they seem to have in their sights is Vitor Roque, who currently plays for Brazilian club, Athletico Paranaense.
As reported by Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona, who have closely followed the youngster, intends to reach an agreement with Athletico Paranaense over the transfer of Roque for next summer.

Roque has caught the eye with his performances in Brazil in recent times. He is coming off of heartbreak though, having lost the Copa Libertadores final to Flamengo. But the youngster can hold his head high, with the performances that he put in during the tournament.
Now, it looks like a move to Europe might be awaiting him. It is not just Barcelona who seem to be interested though. The likes of Real Madrid and Juventus have been linked with Roque as well.
It remains to be seen who ends up winning the race for his signature. He has admitted in the past that Cristiano Ronaldo is his inspiration and Real Madrid’s incredible recent record when it comes to developing young Brazilian talents might potentially hand them a bit of an advantage as well.
