Carlo Ancelotti is not the type of manager to tinker with his team too much unless absolutely necessary and so, Real Madrid have a pretty set group of regular players under the Italian’s management. It also means that there are quite a few who are struggling to get minutes on the pitch and one of them is Alvaro Odriozola.
Before joining Real Madrid, Odriozola was one of the most highly-rated youngsters in Spain and an important part of the Real Sociedad team.
Things have gone south for him at Santiago Bernabeu though. His loan spell at Bayern Munich was not much better. He did have a decent temporary spell at Fiorentina though and it seems that that was enough to pique the interest of Juventus, who are struggling at the moment and are badly in need of refreshing their squad.
As reported by Tutto Juve, Real Madrid want a fee around €10 million to €12 million for the transfer of Odriozola. Juventus will try to negotiate on this figure or will try to ask for a loan move with an option to buy included in the deal as well.
Real Madrid are ready to let struggling player leave for €12 million transfer fee
It does not look like Odriozola has much of a future at Real Madrid and is not expected to get any playing time, unless someone ends up getting injured. The Spaniard is yet to play a single minute of football this season.
At the moment, the starting right-back at Real Madrid is Dani Carvajal, who continues to perform at a high level, while Lucas Vazquez is covering him there.
Odriozola’s current deal with Real Madrid runs till the summer of 2024, which means that they do not have a ton of time to find a new club for him. A move to Juventus might make sense for all parties involved.
