Real Madrid are the biggest club in the world, who have dominated the Champions League over the past decade. Los Blancos have won the competition five times over the last nine seasons. Nobody could have expected such dominance in the modern era. Thus, it should come as no surprise that playing for them is a dream for a lot of players.

Fran Garcia is someone who has already been at Real Madrid, having come through Castilla and he even made a solitary appearance for the first-team as well.

He would end up joining Rayo Vallecano on a permanent basis though and he has established himself as a starter there. So impressive have been his performances that it was believed that Real Madrid wanted to bring him back in the summer although that never ended up materialising.

Garcia has never made it a secret that he wants to return to Real Madrid though. As reported by Relevo, the Rayo Vallecano star said about the matter:

"“Yes, I have always said it and I have never hidden it: one of my dreams is to return to Madrid. But I’m also clear about the things I want right now and what I have to do. Rayo has bet on me and I am delighted to be here.”"

Real Madrid could do with a back up option to Ferland Mendy. While the Frenchman might be the best left-back on the planet when it comes to the defensive side of the game, the same cannot be said about him going forward.

On the other hand, David Alaba is the one covering for Mendy at left-back. And while the Austrian does a very good job of it, at the end of the day he has primarily developed into a centre-back these days.

Thus, signing an out-and-out left-back to compete with Mendy for the position might not be a bad idea for Real Madrid and Garcia is someone who knows the club very well already, having come through Castilla. Let’s see if Los Blancos reignite their interest in signing him in the future or not.
