Real Madrid have been heavily linked with Jude Bellingham of Borussia Dortmund. The Englishman is a man in demand though and has also been linked with the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City as well. Contrary to earlier rumours, it might not be Los Blancos who are leading the race for his signature though.

Of course, it is going to be a long and hard race to sign Bellingham for any club. Not only is there incredible competition but it is also believed that Borussia Dortmund would want a transfer fee of more than €100 million for the England international.

As reported by ESPN, Liverpool are viewed as the favourites to sign Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund and are leading the chase for him. They are believed to be building up a close relationship with the player’s camp. The broad framework of the deal may even be advancing.

It remains to be seen how things play out, but this has to be viewed as a major blow for Real Madrid in their quest to sign Bellingham, who many believe to be Los Blancos’ priority next summer.

No decision is believed to have been made already when it comes to the next destination of Bellingham and as a result, there is time for Real Madrid to get a deal over the line themselves.

It is most likely that Borussia Dortmund would let Bellingham depart next summer, although a January transfer cannot be completely ruled out. There is the World Cup in the middle of the campaign as well, and that could end up having an effect on the midfielder’s valuation as well.

Bellingham is truly a special talent and it is hard to believe that he is still just 19 years of age, considering he has already established himself as one of the best players in the Bundesliga, has been a top performer in the Champions League, is representing England regularly and has even worn the captain’s armband for a club like Borussia Dortmund.
