Real Madrid have let go of a number of players over the years, who have gone on to prove themselves at other clubs after leaving Santiago Bernabeu. Fran Garcia is quickly turning out to be one such player, as he put in a Man of the Match performance against his former side, as Rayo Vallecano beat Los Blancos by a 3-2 scoreline. The result meant that Barcelona are now leading the La Liga title race by two points.

On the other hand, it looks like there could be some interest on the part of Real Madrid in bringing back Garcia, after they allowed him to join Rayo Vallecano just last year.

As tweeted out by Sergio Santos, Garcia is an increasingly likely option to reinforce Real Madrid next season. He was close last summer as well.

Garcia came through the Real Madrid youth system and Los Blancos are believed to have a buyback clause included in his deal with Rayo Vallecano.

Real Madrid could certainly do with another option at left-back right now. Ferland Mendy is an excellent option to have in the big matches and arguably the best full-back on the planet when it comes to the defensive side of the game. Going forward though, he often does not offer enough.

David Alaba has served as the cover to Mendy at left-back but the Austrian is more of a centre-back these days, and thus, Real Madrid could do with an out-and-out replacement for the French international  there.

Someone like Garcia would be able to fulfil that role and could even push Mendy for a place in the starting XI. It remains to be seen if the club will end up making an attempt to sign him in the future or not.
