2)   Fran Garcia

One more player from the list of players who failed to make it work at Santiago Bernabeu, but are absolute success somewhere else. Fran Garcia put in such an inspiring performance against what is his parent club that the talks of him being brought back have gathered steam.

The left back was well appreciated in the Castilla setup where he appeared for more than 50 games. He was also handed a call up to senior team in Copa del Rey in 2018-19 season as a substitute for Dani Carvajal whom he smoked this time around. The diminutive Spaniard has come to life at Rayo Vallecano.

After helping in Rayo’s promotion to La Liga, he has become a permanent fixture in the starting lineup. He is one of the reason’s why Rayo are currently in top half of the table.

Fran Garcia, though, is not a superstar name and this might actually work in his favor. Ferland Mendy is simply the best defensive left back in the world right now and Real Madrid are not specifically looking to replace him.

What Fran Garcia can do is to unsettle him and create healthy competition for a starting role. The board will be delighted to have a homegrown talent representing the team. And club still holds 50% stake in him will make sure that he comes cheap.
