Toni Kroos’ superb strike against Cadiz just showed his continued importance to this Real Madrid team. He might be 32 years of age, but there is an argument to be made that the German World Cup winner is playing the best football of his career and is more complete now than ever before. Since the departure of Casemiro, he has added a defensive side to his game that we did not see often in the past.

Thus, it is no surprise that Kroos remains a regular starter in Carlo Ancelotti’s side. Real Madrid fans are worried about his long-term future at the club though, as there have been suggestions that the German is seriously contemplating hanging up his boots at the end of this season.

Hopefully, that won’t be the case, because Kroos remains one of the most important players at the club and his importance is even more clear on the days when he does not play.

There seems to be a positive update on the matter though. As reported by SPORT, Real Madrid expects Kroos to accept the renewal offer. The only requirement that the German midfielder will make in order to extend his contract is to continue being important to the team as a starter.

Sensational update on Kroos’ Real Madrid future and possible contract renewal

It goes without saying that this is great news for Real Madrid and hopefully, Kroos will put pen to paper soon.

At 32 years of age, he is still too good to give up the game. He remains one of the best midfielders in the world and Real Madrid will have a very tough time replacing the German whenever it is that he decides to hang up his boots.

For the time being, let’s just hope that that decision is not made by Kroos anytime soon and he continues to marshal the Real Madrid midfield for a few more years at least.
