Real Madrid have the most complete midfield in Europe right now, even though there are serious question marks about their depth in several other areas of the pitch. They have two absolute legends of the game in Luka Modric and Toni Kroos, who continue to perform at the very top level. Dani Ceballos is a good cover option. And youngsters like Aurelien Tchouameni, Federico Valverde and Eduardo Camavinga are the present and future of Los Blancos.
With so much depth though, it is hard to get into the starting XI at Real Madrid in the middle of the park. Not many will know that better than Camavinga.
The youngster was an important part of their Champions League triumph last season, playing an important role off the bench. He has continued to be used mostly as a substitute this time around as well though.
According to stats from Transfermarkt, Camavinga has played just 730 minutes of football this season. The Frenchman has made 20 appearances but only 7 of them have been starts and he has played the full 90 minutes on only one occasion. The 20-year-old is also yet to score or assist in the ongoing campaign.
Real Madrid youngster linked with surprise loan move to Premier League club
As tweeted out by Futbol Total, Nottingham Forest would be interested in signing Camavinga on loan in January. They would pay Real Madrid a loan fee as well as pay the player’s full salary.
While that may sound enticing to some, it is hard to see Real Madrid letting Camavinga go out on loan.
Although he has not played a huge amount of football this season, he remains an important player for the club and can change a match coming off the bench. Also, he will learn a lot from the likes of Modric and Kroos at Real Madrid, a tutelage he won’t get at Nottingham Forest.
