Real Madrid have one of the best midfields in world football today, yet it might be time for a bit of a revamp at the same time. Nobody knows what Toni Kroos is thinking right now, as there have been rumours that he could retire at the end of this season, when his current deal runs out. Luka Modric is still performing at a high level but he is 37 years of age and Dani Ceballos might be on the way out at the end of this campaign as well.

Real Madrid have a brilliant core of young midfielders in Eduardo Camavinga, Aurelien Tchouameni and Fede Valverde. They have been heavily linked with a move for Jude Bellingham as well. But it looks like an Italian international is in their sights at the same time.

Someone like Barella could be a fantastic signing for Real Madrid and tick a lot of the boxes that they are looking to be ticked when bringing in a midfielder.

Barella has been an important member of this Inter Milan side since arriving in the summer of 2020.

According to stats from Transfermarkt, Barella has made 20 appearances this season, scoring 6 goals and providing 6 assists in the process.

His current deal with Inter Milan is believed to run till the summer of 2026. Thus, if Real Madrid want to sign him, they would have to shell out a premium transfer fee to make that happen.
