Another Real Madrid star misses training before World Cup
Real Madrid’s squad was feeling the effects of the gruelling schedule in the weeks leading up to the World Cup break. It was pretty clear that Los Blancos did not have the deepest of rosters, and that had started to take its toll. Thus, we saw them struggling for results and the break might have actually come at the right time for Carlo Ancelotti’s side.
Those away with their national teams at the World Cup seem to be continuing to struggle though. Just recently, Karim Benzema was ruled out of the tournament after suffering an injury while training with France.
Now, as reported by L’Equipe, two days before the game against Australia, the France team trained without Eduardo Camavinga. It is believed that the midfielder felt some pain in the adductor.
One would be hoping that the issue is nothing serious and Camavinga’s absence was only precautionary, due to France not wanting to see any more of their players get injured leading up to the World Cup. They have already seen Christopher Nkunku and Karim Benzema being ruled out due to knocks picked up while training, while Paul Pogba and N’Golo Kante were not even part of the squad in the first place.

Camavinga has not been a regular starter for Real Madrid this season. In fact, many feel that the Frenchman has not gotten enough playing time this season.
He has even been linked with a possible loan move to Nottingham Forest in January but it is hard to see that happening, especially with the lack of depth that Real Madrid already have.
With the likes of Pogba and Kante out, Camavinga can actually have a big role to play for France at this World Cup. Let’s just hope that he will be fit enough to do so.
