Real Madrid’s injury woes this season are not unknown. It saw their performances drop ahead of the World Cup break. As a result, Barcelona were able to move ahead of them in the La Liga table despite having lost the El Clasico less than a month earlier. As a result, Xavi’s side now find themselves two points ahead of the defending champions and Carlo Ancelotti’s team have a lot to think about at the moment.

One of their biggest worries has to be their squad depth, which had been a concern coming into the season. Yet, suggestions have been that the club will not make an addition in the middle of the season.

Sooner or later though, they need to make additions, especially at striker, where other than Karim Benzema, there is no other real option. Mariano Diaz has failed to impress and does not seem to be part of Ancelotti’s plans right now, while Rodrygo is not good enough yet to be leading the line on his own game after game.

Real Madrid have been linked with a move for Youssoufa Moukoko of Borussia Dortmund in recent times. On the other hand, it looks like Barcelona have an eye on the German international as well though.

Real Madrid and Barcelona both want striker on free transfer

As reported by SPORT, Real Madrid and Barcelona are following Moukoko. Some newspapers in Germany such as BILD highlight the interest of both clubs in the player.

It was just days ago that Moukoko turned 18 years of age but he already might be on the verge of making his debut in the World Cup and is part of Germany’s squad.

According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 6 goals and provided 6 assists this season in 22 appearances while playing 1187 minutes of football in total.

Thus, it is not hard to understand the hype around Moukoko and why clubs like Barcelona and Real Madrid might be interested in his signature.
