Real Madrid have been linked with a number of players in recent times. The club will surely have their eyes fixed on the World Cup as well, in hopes of discovering the next big star. Los Blancos do have a history of signing some of the best performers from football’s biggest tournament every time and hopefully, that run will not come to an end on this occasion.

One of the rising stars of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar has been Cody Gakpo. He has been a top performer in the Netherlands for a while but he is taking this chance to show what he is capable of on a global stage as well.

Gakpo scored in the opener against Senegal and then added to his tally against Ecuador as well. Thus, the Dutch forward has scored in both World Cup games till now.

His form at club level has been incredible as well and it looks like it has been enough to catch the eye of some of the biggest clubs in world football.

As tweeted out by Marco Timmer, clubs like Manchester United, Real Madrid, Liverpool and Bayern Munich have Gakpo on their radar. An exit from PSV might take a transfer fee over €50 million.

That is not a surprising amount when you consider how good Gakpo has been in recent times both at club and international level. He is a player who can make a difference and has all the attributes to be a superstar of the game.

According to stats from Transfermarkt, Gakpo has scored 13 goals and provided 17 assists in 24 appearances for PSV this season.

Thus, someone like him could be a solid addition to this Real Madrid team, especially considering the fact that he is still just 23 years of age and expected to get better moving forward.
