Real Madrid could do with reinforcements up top for now and the future. Karim Benzema is set to turn 35 years of age and is in the twilight of his career. Also, we have seen the Frenchman struggle badly with injuries this season. There had been suggestions that he was playing it safe leading up to the World Cup, but that was clearly not the case.

In fact, Benzema has been ruled out of the World Cup itself, after suffering an injury in training before the tournament.

So, it is pretty clear that Real Madrid could do with another striker, especially with Mariano Diaz’s current deal running out at the end of this season and him not being much of a feature in this squad in the first place.

One of the young strikers who Real Madrid have been linked with in recent times in that regard is Youssoufa Moukoko of Borussia Dortmund, whose current deal is set to run out at the end of this campaign as well. The German star seems to be interested in staying on with the Bundesliga giants though instead of making a switch.

As tweeted out by Fabrizio Romano, Moukoko said to RND:

"“I feel so comfortable at BVB, I love the club. I’d really love to stay at Borussia Dortmund.”"

Moukoko was one of the most highly rated players in the world while coming through the youth ranks and now, he has started to make his presence felt at the senior level of the game as well, by scoring against the likes of Bayern Munich and Schalke this season.

It is just this month that Moukoko turned 18 years of age and he is already part of Germany’s World Cup squad.

In fact, by coming on as a late substitute against Japan, Moukoko became Germany’s youngest ever player at a World Cup.
